This isn't a story but a comment I found interesting while reading an article concerning Darwinists.
The statement said: Let's admit that the Darwinists are right about one thing, we are in a predicament. We don't ask to be born, but we here we are. We don't normally want to die, but we do. Not knowing why we are here we look for hope. I would say we look for the reason we are here. The choices being to serve ourselves or to serve others. Jesus said it best, Love God and treat others better than we would treat ourselves. I am not sure that solves finding hope but I think it brings peace with "being".

I had a dream (except I didn't have the dream, someone else did)
This has nothing at all whatsoever to do with seeing God at work...
However...
I was wondering if maybe you could shed some light...
What exactly does it mean when your Pastor has a dream about your 2 year old son? In it, your son is running and he's about to run into a wall. Pastor is running after said child to stop him from running into said wall. At the last second before impact with said wall, said child stops, turns around and gives Pastor a huge, cheesy grin. :::sigh:::
Unfortunately, this dream sounds far too much like it could be a true experience. I'm just glad said child has not tried to pull a stunt like that yet.

F.A.Q's
Is God at work (here), when the machine breaks down just before it would cut through the water main? Doe he wear a hard hat? Does he have a better method even though more work is involved? How do you choose? The end result was the same but the unseen danger was averted.
stinky shoes
Today I needed to go outside, so, being barefoot, I grabbed the nearest pair of shoes which happened to be my clogs, and slid my feet into them. When I did, I was reminded of the fact that if I wore these particular shoes too long without putting socks on, they would begin to smell. It was then that I realized I was actually having a conversation with myself:
"You can wear them for a while, but there is a limit, you know. Just make sure you pull your feet out of them before they begin to sweat too much, or your shoes will be ruined. Hopefully you'll know if you're beginning to go too far, but here's the danger: You're likely to get distracted and forget...so remember to get your feet out, or you will ruin your shoes."
I know...I've ruined several pairs of shoes this way!
Now before you start to think that clogs and bare feet and trust in God have nothing in common, let me tell you what the Holy Spirit politely added after quietly observing the conversation .
"Yes," he said, "that's how people get stinky with sin too. They seem to see how far they can go without getting into trouble, but wouldn't it be a better idea to just keep as far away from sin as possible?"
Pastor Bob describes it this way: We enter into temptation when we allow ourselves to dabble here and there in areas that aren't specifically spelled out as sin in the Bible.....things that could pose a danger to us physically and spiritually if left unchecked....things that can lead to full blown sin. Temptation always precedes sin!
You may be happy to know that I CHOSE to remove my bare feet from my shoes....for I knew this life lesson was orchestrated just for me and I was standing on Holy ground!
Oh...and by the way, I am happy to announce that my clogs, thus far, remain stink free!

Response to "blessed"
I think that we are the ones who are blessed! Who was it who stayed home all of those years and taught us how to read, write, and think?! Who was who went to work everyday so that we could have food, shelter, weddings, and college educations?! Who was it who woke us up every morning, when we were younger, for family devotions?! Who was it that realized the importance of the word of God, and thus, tried to instill it in their children?! It was you, Dad and Mom! Thanks!
Liens and Lawyers
I'm remembering the first time some one refused to pay for services rendered. Business seemed to be cooking along and I had a pretty good size job going. I think we had finished installing all new windows in the house and the plasterer was finishing up. I thought we were progressing well but after presenting the owner, a lawyer, with a bill for the current work I was greeted by; I am not going to pay you and get off my job. That was a shock and the bill was substantial. We packed up our stuff and I tried to figure out what to do next. I should have been able to stop the job from going forward but the city rolled his permit over to an owner/builder and let him move on. Next move was to put a lien on the house, that will force him to pay. Liens are good for one year, you then need to go to court or let it go ( I think you can renew it but didn't know it then). I am not letting this go, so I hire a lawyer to jump in the fray. Of course, I have to pay him a retainer and if we win the owner pays up and if we lose, I pay some more. The lawyers banter back and forth and its time to either take our chance in court or accept their final offer of half of what is owed. I take the offer and after paying the lawyer receive about a quarter of what is owed. How is a loss still a victory? When the Lord is in control. You see at the initial "firing" I had made enough money to cover the outstanding expenses without any serious loss. Secondly, as I was searching for wisdom on whether or not to go to court his word spoke to me in my morning devotion and He basically said; don't sue a brother and leave the rest up to me, and I did!
